Kingspan opt for 'SCI Assessed'
The SCI have been able to predict that composite slabs constructed with Kingspan Multideck products can be thinner than the Robust Details requirements and yet still satisfy the Part E acoustic requirements.
Certification for Surebuild
Framing Solutions Surebuild system has recently obtained SCI/NHBC Stage 1 - System Certification. The SCI’s technical experts in light steel framing worked closely with the Framing Solutions technical design department.

SCI is well connected
SCI announce a major upgrade to communications services to the Silwood park site. This makes the service faster and capable of handling the most demanding media. It makes the service more robust assuring against any unplanned downtime.
Blue Book Approaches 5000
SCI have released a new version of the Electronic Blue Book. The software written for Corus now boasts nearly 5000 registered users and has been made available on the Corus website as a download.

SCI hosts International Expert Seminar in Stainless Steel
SCI’s November International Stainless Steel In Structures Experts seminar welcomed 42 international delegates comprising technical experts, stainless steel development associations and industry representatives from 17 countries.

Building Renovation Using Light Steel Framing
SCI and Corus are partners in a project ‘ROBUST’, aimed at addressing the key technical issues in the expanding market for renovation of buildings using over cladding and over roofing.
EURING Project
The SCI are part of a trans-national partnership collaborating to produce a worked example of a building, designed to the new European Codes relating to Structural Steelwork, specifically EC1, EC3 and EC4.

The 2007 Annual Dinner
