The 89th President of the Institution of Structural Engineers

At the beginning of 2009, the former director of SCI Graham Owens took up his new post as the 89th President of the Institution of Structural Engineers. He will act as the chairman of Trustees, the Executive Board and Council, and will provide leadership to a diverse membership of 23,600 structural engineers in 105 countries, a varied regional and branch infrastructure of enthusiastic volunteers, and 50 staff at headquarters.
Summing up his inaugural speech, he outlined the following strategy:
