SCI & IHS join forces: Spread the word!

The SCI and IHS agreement begins to bring more new products on stream. SCI users now have access to the IHS index from the SCI site search and will be seeing an advanced electronic Blue Book for the Eurocodes very soon.

The sole agreement runs until 2009 and grants IHS (formerly Technical Indexes) sole rights to redistribute SCI technical publications in IHS's Construction Information Service. Included in the agreement are all the traditional SCI technical publications. Also IHS will be providing direct linkage for their customers to the full Steelbiz system and to the 'e-5950' product. The first gives IHS customers direct access to some 300 additional technical advisory notes as well as SCI CPD courses online. The latter is an interactive version of BS5950, providing comparison between the 1990 and 2000 editions of the full BSI Code of Practice and a commentary on the individual clause intentions. It also provides a number of key worked examples and interactive flow charts for those new to design.

We have now added access to the IHS CIS index to the SCI site search. When you search SCI, you will be simultaneously searching the IHS index.

In the third quarter of 2007, SCI will produce the first SCI/IHS joint product. This is to be an advanced version of the Blue Book in electronic form combining Blue Book content with the Eurocodes.
