PROMIS - Goes Live and Large!

Our first IT business system for an external client.
The New Year saw the launch of the live PROMIS system to an eager audience. PROMIS - or Project Records Online Management Information System, to give it its full title - is a web based business system that handles the internal administration of all research work done on behalf of the HSE and also all work done through the HSL (Heath and Safety Laboratory).
The total value of project work captured by PROMIS for the month of January is £1,723,114.00. It is estimated that it will handle 30million worth of work per year.
While the HSE has benefited from SCI's ICT skills before (we also provided them with the HSE Research Projects Directory) this is the first business system that we have developed for an external client. Moreover, it is a complete business system that is replacing the reams of paperwork that were once associated with HSE and HSL project work. It also gives the HSE the first opportunity it has had to monitor all aspects of workflow and formally monitor and review their project work. PROMIS is also seamlessly integrated with the HSE Research Projects Directory which publicises all HSE commissioned research work on the web.
Our wide ranging skills that include business analysis, systems architecture and software implementation, enabled PROMIS to be delivered from user needs analysis to operation within a year.
