SCI continues to provide technical courses in the public arena, running a variety of in-depth courses throughout the UK and Ireland. Included in the course programme are a number of Eurocode related courses, together with the ever popular core courses such as portal frames, frame stability and connection design.

In-house and bespoke courses

Many clients opt for our flexible and cost-effective in-house training courses, which offer 'one-off' bespoke courses to suit individual requirements and fill in corporate training gaps.

Multiple locations

Larger companies, such as engineering consultancies with several nationwide offices, frequently book a series of one day training courses across various office locations to ensure company-wide training for all their employees. This is particularly relevant with the arrival of the Eurocodes.

For academic members, SCI has prepared a number of worked examples to the Eurocodes. These worked examples are available for editing and use by tutors presenting lectures on the Eurocodes. (SCI Members only)

Student Competitions & Discussion Forum

The annual Corus Student Awards cover the design of steel buildings and steel bridges. Undergraduates at UK universities are invited to compete against other universities to become the outright winner of either the Buildings or Bridge competition.

The briefs for the competitions are available online, and students are encouraged to use the discussion area for the competitions by following the link below. For the bridge competition, a student guide is available for download.
